hi all,
i've just bought a GSXR 750 SRAD, it's a W 2000 plate, so one of the last.
I would like to know all the common problems or possible problems that i might encounter with the bike.
and could you also tell me the mods that give the biggest bang for buck??
I'm currently trying to source a yoshi can, preferably a stubby... anyone got one or know of one for sale ?? :) |

I had the earlier one and the only problem was the carb freezing but obviously you wont have that problem. These things are bullet proof. As for the exhaust, I had the full Arrow system and it was awesome. If you realy want to spend money then go for the suspension, I changed mine to Ohlin's and it made a huge difference.  |

| as Dod said spend some on suspension as it will be tired after 8 years get shock serviced around £70 and front fork springs are quite soft harder springs improve things id say around 140 for springs and service, six pot callipers can be tempermaental if not kept clean with pistons sticking when working properley awesome brakes. other mods worthwile to start with id recomend full system or if to much end can,bmc filter and get it mapped with power commander. these are still great bikes and can keep up with alot of the newer stuff enjoy mate |

thanks croc are k tech still on the go?? I used them once or twice when i had a little clio 182 and had no problems with them, but i'm sure many others were at the end of there tether with them. |

| its not the one that does cars its k-tech suspension ltd coalville 01530 810625 they do a lot of bsb bikes and really know their stuff been using em for years not sure if they have website so give em a call i got my wp rear shock off them £560 transformed the old srads handling after they set it up great chaps |

as for enhancements the worst thing you can do is fit a stubby it mucks about with the running as it seriously buggers the engine breathing theres plenty of decent aftermarket cans availible out there new or secondhand on the good old ebay i've got 3 aftermarket cans for my srad and one of them was one a guy had made for his 600 trackbike in stainless and i won it for £16 off ebay + £5 p+p and theres not a mark on it its mint and sounds awsome as for airfilter i say k&n allday long if you get yourself a half decent can and a k&n you will feel the difference for the better
but i'm with others on a bike of this age i think you should start with the suspension first as mine is a 2000 reg srad aswell and mine needs all new suspension over winter as the original just isn't upto the job anymore hope this is of help |

| Ive got a 96 srad and had not trouble with. Cracking bikes and love to be hammered. Mines dyno'd, got a k&n and a race can. I serviced the forks myself and then had the suspensiom properly setup by 100%, which made a huge difference on trackdays. |

What about fitting k-SERIES 4pots to the SRAD, do these enhance the braking at all???

if your standard six pots are kept serviced and maintained then they are pretty much the best factory fitted youll ever get mine can endo my bike at pretty much most speeds if i apply enough pressure lol |

| k4 callipers are radial mount so wont fit your forks,if u want em gold take em off strip em and get some pj1 vht gold calliper paint and spray em gold |

got a 97srad 600 and the only real problems so far have been the coil caps!!
110 each for replacements ut local breakers will do a full set very cheap!!
other than that said to be reliable bikes |
