| Well the bike was taken to London, essesx, then to MK then to Box Hill this weekend, and i think my confidence is getting better, must have done about 400 miles on her this weekend |

hey guys may have to meet up with you guys also one day?
went to one of these years ago and they had avanced riders there that you can go out with and they will comment on your riding. not sure if they still do tho.
the guys i did my test with do corner training on the pirbright bends if you want there number but not sure how cheap they are ?
dont have any biker mates all car drivers a the mo in evos impezas etc |
It's pretty much how TVAM works. You get different levels of riders, associates (trainees), members, Obsevers, trainee observers etc.
Costs £85.00 frist year, this includes your test fee, £25.00 to renew each year.
At the monthly meetings associates get assigned to observers, typically 2 to 1, though sometime you have an observer and a trainee observer. If you are new you will also get your own personal observer, you go out with them as many times as the pair of you agree, that is one to one though sometimes mine has trainee observers come along, so I get two for the price of one. Your rides get graded from D to A, when you are getting straight A's you go out for a cross check. This is performed by an observer from another area and you ride for a couple of hours and if they are happy, you are put in for your test.
Once you have passed your test, you can attend monthly and do ride outs with others that have passed or begin training as an observer. There are also many rides, events and meetings through out the year.
Every month, hundreds attend and there are 15 to 30 new attendees. There is slow riding training and a course called "look, lean and roll" to hep cornering by teaching you countersteering and throttle control etc.
You get all sorts there, sportsbikes, tourers, the odd custom bike, all ages and (it seems to me) more ladies/girls attending recently.
I'm lapsing until October, because of my football but I enjoy the meets and have made some great mates there that I ride with regularly, even if they ride ZZr's, Pans, GS's etc.
I joined more to get out on rides with people but I enjoyed the training as well. |

if you want more confidence in cornering my advice would be to attend a trackday and get some instruction, plus you have around 100 other trackdayers there will lots of different opinions and advice and you can learn lots off little bits off of them, plus its more fun then on the road  |

The IAM and RoSPA courses are a way off for you at the moment. You have only been riding four weeks.
Bikesafe is a stepping stone and is really the first step in terms of post test training.
Before you go throwing money at the IAM/RoSPA stuff, go to a library and have a look through Roadcraft, this is the bible of advanced rider training. Or buy yourself a copy, it's boring as hell but quite a good reference book in terms of "advanced" techniques on the road.
I think it is great that you want to learn and improve your riding but don't try too much too soon. All you will get is confused by all the stuff that you "should" be looking for/doing. Just take your time, get out on your bike, put some miles under your belt.
Be like a sponge, absorb all the information you can then wring yourself out with the superfluous stuff. What works for me on my bike may or may not work for you on yours.
It's all a bit vague until someone who knows what to look for follows you and identifies any areas which might need a bit of work.
Don't know if any of this really answers your question as there is no real "tips" in it but it may give you something to think about. |

| good advice that,4 weeks is such a short time,45 years and still learning,try to ride out with 1 or 2 good sensible riders as often as you can,personally i try not to go out in a large group as someones always playing catch up and thats when it gets dangerous. |

They meet at St Crispins school ont they the third sunday of every month. I will be doing that but i cant at the moment with work. |
If ever you are down kent on a sunday you can always come out with me and my missus she only passed her test in may so we dont go mental so you are always welcome  |
