I am going to add Mott Motorcycles in Basingstoke.

They get a lot of stick locally but gave me the best quote on my K6 when I ordered it. I have been aware of them for over 20 years and remember when they were a tiny outfit in a small holding near the town centre. The are the biggest or hae the widest choice of equipment but decent enough to suit the needs of most. The bloke in the spares department is worth getting to know, he comes accross as quite grumpy and uncaring at first but get to know him and you'll find he is far from it, just takes some getting used to.

To cap it all on my latest service, I had a GS500 for the day but when I went to collect my bike I was told there was a problem and they would need it a bot longer. I needed to get to Slough that night (to do that Superbike Survey) but didn't fancy it on the GS500. They could have put it back together and then book it toda once the spare had arrived but instead they loaned me a brand new k8 thou, for two days. Wicked, thanks guys. Just had a call me is ready so I'm off to collect it. The K8 is nice and if I didn't have a K6 I would get one but I would not trade my k6 for one. Never used the ABC switch.

I always go to Paul Smedley (PSI) in Widley between Portsmouth and Waterlooville.

Been going to him for over 2 years now, not heard a bad word, and been more than impressed with everything he's done.

His number is 07760178178 and he's a one-man setup, able to deal with most bikes.

National Bike Tyres

used these recently and although they did take a couple of days to come instead of next day delivery, thought they were cheap. They are worth the benefit of doubt in my opinion Wink

just wanted to add a little something to diggler's comment.

Now I wouldn't want to put him in the bad bin, but after the mixed reports from lots of people I know round here (I live just outside bristol) I don't know if I'd necessarily put him in the good guys list though.

Personally I've never had any problems with him myself, but having said that the service I got from him wouldn't make me likely to go back in a hurry (too long and not really major enough to go into specifics).

However I would like to add James Holland (JHS) Racing in Keynsham near bristol (they do have a web site), as I've known James for a while now, and although he has an off day every now and again (he's biten my head off before, lol), he's very knowledgable, won't do a job unless it's done properly and just has a very well run operation in general. Plus if you have an SV you need to take it to him, they really know how to set up an SV!

I've had him do several things for me over the years including a strip and service of my old RVF400 as well as building a custom system for it as well as some other bits, plus he did a fantastic job on the fuel map on my old 750, hence my new one will be going in as soon as I have a chance.

oh and diggler, you'll have to drop me a line and hook up some time, maybe I could show you round the gorge and the mendips and you could show me some lines over in taff land as me and my mates are partial to a trip over the bridge every now and again.

A most excellent experience today with B&C express, purveyors of quality sprockets and chains (and they'll make one for you as well, if you've aftermarket wheels), and also big up to the great service from Crescent Performance centre (Tom)

Why can't EVERY service we require be this friendly or informative. Well done lads Very Happy

Bikers World Daventry. Bob knows his stuff. tell him Nigel from Bikers Retreat sent you. It may do some good it may not.

And this one is more relevant to the Midlands area but there is a mobile tyre repair/fitter. I met him at Oulton Park. His van is well sorted and he seemed to be sorting out tyre problems on the day. Much to the chagrin of the "official" tyre guy.

Guys - I'm in GY. Never heard of London Road Inc, but will give e'm a whirl (specially if there's a babe there).

Speaking of babes, check out CJ Balls at Hales. Emily is hot, but the real reason to go is excellent service, excellent servicing (loaner bike if required), good deals (if you ask me, I'll tell you about the deal I got on my bike & the wife's).
And it's a good place to meet for a ride-out.

There is a store in Norwich, but I've no personal experience of that one. But there's no reason why it shouldn't be the same as Hales.
