Hi,
I've just got my 98 sard gsxr 600, I noticed there is a leak from the fuel tank and it turns out the leak is from the fuel pump gasket.
I went to Sukuzi dealership and they won't sell the gasket seperately with the pump. I wonder if anyone know where I can get a new gasket from?

| I dont think RTV is tolerant enough of petrol Sam.. it'll go soft and dissolve. |

You could go to a good car spares shop and buy a sheet off the relevent gasket material ,use your old gasket as a template and make one , it should only cost 2/3 quid for the gasket sheet..

na ive got some stuff i used to use on my old track car, il have a hunt in the garage and see what its called, its good stuff i used it for everything bar the head gasket |

Yeah there must be one thats safe with petrol i would of thought.. but your average RTV sealant will dissolve.
I think Permatex do one specifically for automotive seals thats petrol/oil safe.. but id still go for trying a new gasket first :) |

if they are a rubber o-ring go to a company called PIRTEK 0800590289 ,if thay haven't got one they can get it the next day it will only cost pennies ,specify that you wan't it for use with petrol. |

thanks for the reply, it's not an o-ring. It's a big white oval shape rubber, I might just have to go down sealant route if I can't find one. [link]

Happened to mine also, got a gasket which comes with replacement bolts too from Orwells suzuki Main dealer so shouldn't be a prob. I Also used a resistant sealer also just in case. Make sure you gently retap the threads so the bolts have good grip too. No probs since then

Oh, and dont over tighten them.. follow the spec suzuki give with tightening order and torque (only 3Nm) else it can make it leak more than before  |

I'm with croc on this one ..It's a seperate iitem
.I was at my suzi dealers today perusing the bikes and told them that your dealer says you'll have to buy the pump as well ... Answer was "BOLLOX,, they are just taking the p1$$"
Pulled it up on the parts list comp(Gasket set fuel pump) and will set you back around £25 |

| Yupe, I've ordered one from another dealer which is £25 but it is 22 miles away. My local one is just down the road, which is a pity. I'm in Milton keynes, so you which dealer I'm talking about. |
