Just a question, coz there's a few threads on the subject - is it actually safe to listen to music while riding?

One of my mates (CBR600RR) wears his iPod while riding and has difficulty keeping up with the rest of us. He admits that it is a distraction, but won't stop wearing earbuds.

So - opinions?

i love riding with mine

your supposed to wear ear plugs all the time anyway so i cant see how listening to music is any different to blocking out noise using ear plugs

i actually feel much better and have more fun riding with the music myself

end of the day visions far more important than hearing IMO

but i know people that hate riding to music so its personal taste i guess if you prefer it or not but i really cant see how it could be unsafe

people have music in the car would you think of that as unsafe?

I used to a while ago...but found that i'd ride differently dependent on the music playing...i.e...Mozarts Requiem - chilled cruise mode...Motorhead - look down and you're well into 3 figures...same with the car, it's all subliminal...now it's just plain old ear defenders here Wink

I know what your saying about riding depending on the tune in your ears.

I dont feel for me personally that it makes to much to me. I ride much the same if i have ear defenders in or ear defenders and AutoCom kit switched on.

I do up my game when i have the music on and am more aware than normal of what is going on around me.
