Good Morning!

What would be the best course for me to go on as a new rider? I have my DAS soon, but as it's only 4 days worth of "experience" I was wondering what else there is for training. I've heard of bike safe, but that's all.

Cheers!

Lee

Hey,

I'm from Bristol. I'm not sure where'd I'd go to find out..probably asking the instructor would be a good start he should know. But wondering which one would be more benificial being a new rider.

look, lean & Roll?

I'm from Bristol too, (well, close), and passed my DAS a few weeks ago, I'm looking to do an advanced rider course next year, I've read about them in a couple of mags, I think Ride hold a course which looks pretty good.

To be honest if you are just doing your DAS then it is far to early to be looking at advanced training in terms of the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists or RoSPA. These are the two main players in the advanced world and like them or loathe them they are the most widely recognised by some insurance companies.
There are private companies offering training but it can be expensive and regulation of the "instructor" is limited. Anyone with a full licence can call themselves an "advanced" instructor. This is changing but be warned.
It's great that you want to explore this and good luck with the test but don't try to walk befoe you can run. Some things have to become second nature in terms of riding and only then can you take more info in with regad to becomeing an advanced rider.
Bikesafe is a good starter on the road to post test training, it is designed with the newer rider in mind and is an introduction to more advanced riding techniques.
I am away at the moment and typing this from the pool bar but pm me with any specific questions and I will try to answer them at some point soon or when I get home.

I used the have the black GTi-R on the Tatsu Forum (Japzeye). I was only speaking with John the other day and he said that you, him and Laura had all passed Laughing

So don't worry, I'm not stalking you Smile (Thanks Fi!!).

I know it's too early to be doing advanced rider courses yet, but It's for the near future - I get what your saying though nige, I need to get used to riding on the road first Thum_2

well i passed my test 6 mnths ago and i joined the IVAM last month so this is my second month and because i did it quite early i havent picked up many if any bad habits, which is a good thing i guess. but i will be doing look lean and roll when it starts again in the spring as they actually do it there as well as slow riding
