I've been looking into getting one fitted due to my use of the rear brake mid-corner & having to adjust my foot position which is a pain in the ar$e...

But i don't have a bloody clue where to start looking..Rolling Eyes

I sposse i could stop flying into corners like an ar$e but wheres the fun in that? Evil1

When you say trailing the rear brake, do you do this to go quicker into the corner or are you backing it in? I trail the front brake into corners but dont use the rear, should i?

I use a bit of back brake to settle things down going into the corner then, if i've ballsed it (more often than not! Laughing ) then i use the back brake to help me adjust my line..

I think it stems from loosing the front on my old firebalde whilst trailing the front brake into a bend. I hardly ever used the rear brake til then but now i use it all the while if find it helps the bike settle more in the corner.

It 'aint there for show so i may aswell use it.. Thum_2

ive never used one (yet) but speaking to a few guys on a corner such as gerrads at mallory they use the thump brake to calm it down abit wilst keeping the throttle open when your cranked over in the bend to help prevent high siding and so that you can keep it stable at higher speed/revs. and also it can help you get yourl line back if your runing wide. i personly never trail the front on bends thro the fear of loosing the front end

i may be talking complete poo but thats how i understood the use of a thumb brake

alot of drag racers use the thumb brakes to control wheelspin on launch's as up untill mid track you stuggle to get your feet back on the pegs.
