 |
|
Hi guys, i've recently bought a `92 Gsxr 750 wn streetfighter which was jetted (134`s i think) it had no air box at all when i got it so ive put one on it and its really bad in low revs setting off around 2thou then splutters again around 4..... anything above that is fine!
I've had a service done on it and the plugs came out white (not sure if this is right because of the jets or not??)
Can someone help??? |

yep, its because u have put the airbox on when it should be running individual race filters, either buy some K&N race filters which u will gain alot more power aswell, or drop the main needle hight 2 notches on the carbs and see how she runs, she should be alot better.
let us know how u get on |

Hi Mate, it is because you have fitted the airbox that the fuelling has started giving you problems (its probably too rich)
All models of the 'W' series gixers (both 1100's and 750's) will not run properly on the road with open carbs or individual filters (hence why dynojet do not make anything apart from a stage 1 jet kit for these models) so I would persevere with the airbox route.
By the sound of it whoever has run the bike before has put a much larger main jet in to cope with the open carbs.
I would recommend that you whip the bike into your nearest dyno centre and get the jetting set up on a rolling road as this will ensure the optimum running and make sure you’re not running too rich |
