RECENTLY PURCHASED A GSXR1000K1 AS A PRIVATE SALE. REPLACED THE PLUGS, OIL AND FILTER. THE BIKE HAS DEVELOPED WHEN IDLING EITHER HOT OR COLD A MISSFIRE, WHICH SOUNDS TO BE COMIN BACK THROUGH THE INJECTOR AREA. THE BIKE ALSO HAS DEVELOPED A CONSTANT SUCTION NOISE FROM AROUND THE TOP RIGHT OF THE ENGINE. TOOK ALL THE AIRBOX ETC OFF TONIGHT, CHECKED PLUGS ARE TIGHT, BUILT IT ALL BACK UP, STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL!!!! MANY THANKS MARK!

All the air / vacuum pipes are back on correctly. the rubber mounts between injector rail and head, haven't been touched to change the plugs, and the airbox is on tight! Remove the injector rail and check all the rubber mounts, is probably what I'm going to do next although I can't really see it bein these!

have you run it without the airbox on to have a better chance of locating the noise?

not something odd like someone blocking your ram air ducts?

Was it doing it when you got it? IE - before you changed the plugs?

No, it wasn't doing it before I changed the plugs. Seem to be having alot of electrical problems as well at the minute. LHS indicators only work occasionally, doesn't even flash on the dash even though all bulbs etc are fine! RHS has just started to be tempremental as well. Headlight and sidelight has stopped working, even though the bulbs are all fine! All connection plugs are correctly wired up! Was wondering if this may be causing the missfire as well! I was told by a mate it might be something like the generator playing up, or even a bad or earth somewhere! Basically owned GSXR's for last 7 years, all of them have been serviced by myself and have had no problems with any of them! Everything on this bike appears to be back together properly and has all been checked a couple of times, Many thanks for the replies!!!!!!!!

Electrical issues do sound like a bad earth, double check battery terminals, engine earth. easiest way to find dodgy connection is to put meter on resistance with beep accross front & rear LHS indicator (whilst off) & move all connection blocks until you hear a beep - can also find wire breaks that way.

Have you tried running the bike with the tank cap open, does it still make sucking noise?

Possibly air in the cooling system & you are hearing airlock on top rad pipe.
