well the bike went to Marks unit today to get completed and i spent a day down there working with him on the bike.

I brought the bike out my workshop this morning and onto the drive ready for mark to pick it up when my next door neighbour Steve came out (he owns a 04 Fireblade) to cut the grass, and i seen him look, and i think his face said everything, its the first time he has seen the bike since i MOT'd it before i stripped it, way back in november. He was stunned to say the least and ive never seen someone take soooo many photo's of one bike Laughing

he now wants me to build him a bike as a run around Laughing

9.00am

i spent the day then round marks unit, while i stripped the carbs completely and washed them all out, Mark started on cutting up the crappy fitting Termignoni exhaust system which needs SOOOO much work to get it to give anything that remotly resembles gound clearance. The pipes are now in around 18 peices after we cut them up.

the pipes are being rerouted and remade to custom fit the bike, it will also allow me to have my bellypan on aswell, the way we are building it aswell will mean i can have a normal mounted can or also if i wanted, i could take a link pipe off and with a replacement cap i could have a side exit straight through so it exits like the new R6 can does.

Hopefully the bike will be finished 2morrow, will let u know how i get on.

Well its monday afternoon and i get up out my bed from nightshift and go down to marks unit to see the finished exhaust, there have still been no parts arrive from Robinsons so theres not much else we can do.

Needless to say i am impressed with the exhaust, there is sooo much more ground clearance now and ive never seen and exhaust fit that tight into a bike before. Altho Mark said that it was a pain in the arse to make it all fit for the appropiate ground clearance.

we have also gathered that the oil cooler that was on the bike is not for an 1100M and is too long, which not only means it needs spaced out to get clearance fom the exhaust, but it also hits the front mudguard, so i went on the hunt for an M cooler with no luck, so the only thing we could do was to cut 3 rows out the cooler and block off the galleries with some welded billet studs.

getting ever so near to completetion now, just need the parts from Robinsons and we can fire her up Very Happy

rite, well heres the exhaust guys now its been properly modified to fit, also had some bad luck with the oil cooler aswell, the cooler was that old and contaminated that it wouldnt take a weld, so the next plan is to fit the spare GSXR1000 cooler that Mark has hangin around and modify the take offs to fit. Will be running by tomorrow evening and ready to role by friday Very Happy

the finished system
