| i've had the book 'a twist of the wrist vol1 ' a number of years now and read it countless times if theres anyone thats not read it before i suggest you get it because after 20 odd years of riding i thought i wasnt to bad , but reading that book i learnt alot , and with regards to countersteering i realized i was doing it but never noticed that i was , so i started to really think about was i was doing in terms of body position , grip strength on the bars even the position of my feet on the bars and the difference was unreal it not only made me a faster rider but found i could relax more as i didnt know just how tense i was riding previously. |

thats probably where you're going wrong mate , as you dont have to put any real pressure on the bars , if you do you want to try looking at at your riding position and even putting pressure on the foot pegs................................................with your feet obviously |

| Interesting thread! I have always used countersteering, in fact we were taught to do it when I did my direct access (although I found when they explained it, I was already doing it without realising). I cant imagine how I would go round a corner without doing it! |

True and Not disputed....
However as soon as you are conscious of the theory and its effect then it will improve your riding dramatically...
Well it did for me anyhow....

Wasnt sure what you were referring to here but did a quick google, I was shown this tecnique when I did my DAS 2 years ago, the instructor basically said to go right push down on the right, I guess theres 2 methods, pull up on the left or push down on the right, same effect really. Guess Ive been doing this since Ive been riding without even knowing it |

| countersteering is a natural occurance, Everyone on a bike will do it without realising, Dispite of what technique you use to acheive it, subconsciously or consciously, Fact is, you need to shift the bike to get the lean angles and countersteering is how you do just that. |
