Well not so much of a today, more of a "this week".
As some of you know we have had a busy time with and along with a few staff issues (still ongoing) my time to get on here has been somewhat reduced.
However, we always close for the second weekend of August and go and have a bit of a chill at the Bulldog Bash with a few mates. This year we couldn't get there until the Friday but I decided totake the tent and pitch it on the Thursday, so far so good. Rolled out the 1100, strapped on the tent and off we went. Nice day, dry roads got sorted. Left Long Marsden to come home around 4. As I was in a bit of a rush I decided to use the motorways (don't get the opportuntity to ride on them very often, what a novel experience that was!!!!!). At Shrewsbury I heard a bit of a strange noise which turned into an horrific banging from the engine very quickly. Exit one 1100 enhine...life expired. Tiv had to get a couple of the guests to come out with the trailer and rescue me. Siffice to say the Bulldog was attended but had to use the 1000.
A good weekend with the further bonus of a day at Oulton on Wednesday. All the was going well, the forecast was a bit iffy but the sun came out and the track dried. I had the camera on board and was following a mate in the second session.
Four laps in, all going well. Exited Hislops chicane and on the gas up the hill, into third, just as the track bends left I was just clicking into 4 and the white line appeared. There ain't no grip on the paint and grass is there?????
I thought I had a half chance at saving it but it was not to be. Exit one GSXR1000. A bit of a mess. I have no idea of the speed at which it happened but top of the rev range from 3 to 4 was not condusive to a bit of gaffa tape and t-cut to fix it.
So, two bikes, life expired. What a week!!!
For those that are interested, I am ok, bit bashed around but nothing broken. Kit did it's job and I walked away smiling (with relief!!!).
So, it's off to the great god which is e-bay to sort it.
Where's me spanners!!!!!!?

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Just read this. Glad you are ok mate. Bad week for you, or if you look at it another way a good week, as the speed you must have come off at you were a lucky boy Wink
