First question...
Will a bike with a 5j rear rim, fail for having a 180 rear tyre on it??

No.........because it isn't part of the test. Condition of wheels and tyres, yes, but size, no. I've double checked with my mate who is a tester and it's not summit they look at.

All the bikes i've had with 190 rims i've run thru' MOT's with 180 tyres on and they've never been examined in that respect.

the only time it would be failed is if the tyre contacts any part of the swingarm , chain etc they will check for wear marks
