When this light comes on you need to pull over and stop, do not stop the engine!
You need to have your spare key in your pocket. remove the seat hump while the engine is still running and the FI light is flashing.
under the hump there is a white plug (could be an idea to make this accessable before you set off) it has a black rubber cap (red and white wire going into it) . Remove black cap and put paperclip across the two terminals in it. Now look at your clocks. It will display a C** error code. Get this code and go to your dealer with it, hopefully they should be able to sort it for you then.

Great stuff Andy, cheers.

Couple of questions though. I don't appear to have an FI light or clocks for that matter. There's also no ignition key so I don't think I have any spares either. I looked under my seat and found just fresh air, an undertray and a wheel.

Any ideas? Confused Laughing

Downloaded this post and gave it with my bike to the guy who fitted my power commander and it is now sorted.
He did say that this post was invaluable cos it was just a slightly loose wire that would have taken him days to find and the fault code led him straight to it.

thanks very much guys.

I'd forgotten about this issue (I had it on my K1 600), because I haven't had it on my K5. Has it been identified by Suzuki and rectified does anyone know? Or am likely to get it in the future? Nevertheless, top post Andy, that bloody FI error drove me mad for years!!!!
