Would the imobilizer kicking in generate a fault code? I've spotted the plug to paper-clip, but it's tucked in behind a modified undertray, so will prob need graft to get at.
I had a little play with the key fobs and think the imobilizer could be enough to kick up the ignition fault, if this makes sense to others, I'll leave the FI checking alone unless it arrives at another time.. |

Andy, any chance of updating this thread to include the new codes on the K7's?
MrTurner it could well cause a C42 code depending on the wiring of the immobiliser. |

I'm not familiar with that alarm, someone else might be, but no alarm/immobiliser should trigger a fault if it's correctly fitted & working. |

Sorry - poor explanation, if it's doing what I think, it's not throwing a fault until I turn the ignition on while the alarm is arming/armed. |

The K7 750's plug has about 6 wires going to it, I haven't found out which ones to use yet, and the bible doesn't specify, it only suggests the "Special tool" I thought that was the person riding it.
Edit: It's the black/white tracer to the white/red tracer on the K7 6 plug type. |

| my 1st time was while i was in the 600 mile break in period i was on my way to get the bike serviced and it came on when i got to the dealership the mechanic told me just to turn my bike off turn the key to the off posiotion and it would reset the light and the fi error message ans he said it was from that shutter value in the exhaust that u hear when u turn ur power on... sometimes it doesnt shut all the way and if u just do what he told me it would fix it... and it does i have done it at least 4 times... and i havent had any problems with it... it doesnt do it that often |

Had this prob with my k1 1000. When starting if the Fi light flashed i would switch the kill button on and off until the fi light came on with out flashing then i would start the engine most times this would work.on the occassion when this did not work i booked it in at the main dealer the only fault they could find was on the wiring block right side front faring this was a bit corroded due to water. The block was cleaned fault rectified light behaved its self for long time after.
this may not solve all problems just mine

Reliable informed that the F1 systems can be effected by TV/mobile phone masts on K1 and 2s. Try whilst in out in country switching on/off, this has always sorted it. Mine, K2 thou, always comes on when i park at work under a whooper of a mast(!). Obviously if you have a fault this will not remedy it. Worth a try.
Thanks |
