i finally got everthing woo hoo and also have got it all ready to so i thought i would start with a pic of how the bike is now

the first thing i got was the sub frame the only problem with this is the catch / stay for the rear pod/seat has been cut off so i need to find a small bit of ally to get welded on there as well as the lugs but it was perfectally straight paid £43 for it ebay private seller

the next bit i got was the latch and i plan on using my lock i paid £2.50 for it bargin ebay private seller

the next bit was the rear cowl paid £21 for it but it was white and i wanted black ebay seller

then i got the riders seat for £15 again a private ebay seller
i also got the rear seat and seat unit for £70 i managed to get somone to end early on ebay at the time the rear seats were going for +£50 so i think i got a good deal

i next bought an undertray and rear lights for it lights were £30 and the undertray was £27 both from ebay sellers and i began work fitting the lights staright away

i then managed to get the original batt/undertray which was the hardest thing of all to find at the time £16

the next job was to prep undercoat , colour and clear coat the undertray and cowl and i think i got a pretty good finish from the can . i do plan on getting a new paint job on the bike as soon as i have finished mucking about with it

next i went to work on the sub frame first removing the cargo hooks ( why put the on a sportsbike ? ) then i started to grind the lug welds down and you can see in the pictures how i figured out where to cut

next was to cut the original unertray to take the after market

then i fitted the aftermarket it just slotted into place and i had to drill 4 holes 2 to line up with the female threads on the frame and two to line up with the original lugs on the seat unit . for attaching the undertray to the original seat unit hole i used the rivinut/nutsert tool i bout and inseted threads rather than using the nast plastic dowls

i have just ordered a pair of indicators (£14) and i think im going to buy a rsend bracket for the indicators and numberplate i do plan on leaving my numberplate the legal size as i have only been pulled 3 times in 8 years so im guessing this is why

the last thing i have done to date was get the bolts/screws for all of the fairing M6 x 20 has done most of them but i will need a couple of longerones on the sides that hold the riders seat to the subframe

i got 2 weeks of work in a week so i plan on pulling the arse end of the srad and getting some measurements for cutting and welding the subframe lugs cant wait

thanks everyone for help Razz

busy day today , first day off work and got a fair bit done considering untill this year i wouldent even remove a dust cap ! Rolling Eyes

took all of the plastics off to start

then i slowly started to dismatle everything

then i tried to start fitting the subframe but found that i had to grind the subframe and the main frame a little bit ( in for a pennie in for a pound Laughing )

then i put some of the plastics and seat on to see if i liked the angle and mark out where to cut

i also had to grind the original undertray a bit

the tig welder said come back tomorrow BOOO but hey he is a pro and was busy doing a big order for some one so i got on with some other things . i started by changing the rear shock for a newer one still stock but set up with the settings obtained from this forum

and next i started to strip the forks ready to fit the 750 one but i had to stop at the top yolk as i need to drill out a allen screw and the kids are in bed but managed to switch the clip on's and the 750 bottom yolks are now fitted

so my first day off work was a busy one and hopfully i will get the sub frame back tomorrow so i can route the electrics and fit the sub frame fully and say good bye to the old one also think im going to leave the hugger off

thanks guys for the nice comments , almost there got the subframe back late yesterday and got to work first thing this morning

forgot about the tank rivinuts colliding with the seat rivinuts as per the guide so i just shortened the allen bolts that secure the seat DOH also the original bolts for the tank bracket are also to big as the seat rests on them

after fitting the sub frame i then cut and fitted my tank hinge
so the batt goes in and out ok also i noticed that the tank goes higher up now which is all good . so the batt and the ecu use the original mounts in the original batt tray

next i mounted my rectifier which at the moment is only on one bolt and the alarm

next where the relays and starter soliniod ( i think thats what they are ) i cut the undertart to take the relay and rivinutted the mount for the starter soliniod as below

then i fitted theseat unit etc

there was a hole in the original undertary i used for the key lock only temp as my mates making a bracket up for it

then the last thing for today while the rain has just started again was the rear lights number plate and indicators

just gotta sort my exhaust and fix that lock in place and remove the stickers now and im finished i do like the look of it but still want to put a dirty bike SRAD sticker on the back
