I have just had this sent to me. For the info of those in the area.
Everyone,
Please be aware of a major gas pipeline construction project ongoing through 2008. The work across the north of England will affect many roads popular with motorcyclists and could add to the hazards they may encounter whilst riding, in particular heavy plant vehicles moving and manoeuvring on the road and road surface issues.
A website has been created outlining the pipeline route to allow for planning to avoid the affected areas. This can be found at

Please make motorcyclists aware of this project wherever possible.

It's not the slow vehicles you want to start worrying about, It's the friggin mud !!!!
They have been doing the pipeline down this way for the last two years and the roads have been a nightmare........the mud strewn over the road went on for miles and miles, it's been crap.
But they have finished now and perhaps this summer we wont have to go through all the crap again! |
