 |
|
| ok, so im looking into buying the yoshimura stage-r camshafts and yoshimura TRI full exhaust. Ive already got a K&N filter and will get the the power commander III as well. With the camshaft, will i have to have engine work done to my bike or will they drop straight in with no problems. If anyone could hook me up with a dyno chart and some pics of the high exit version of the exhaust that would be great. Thanks. |

i think with the R cams ull need the valve cotters and the stronger springs but i could be wrong, other than that they should drop straight in, but if u need the springs and stuff you will need your head of i would say to change em. and while thats off you can always have the head gasflowed lol |

Its unlikely that you will see any big power gains by just adding the cams.
For the money that the cams cost I'd get the head gasflowed and ported you'll probably see more hp per £ from going down that route. |

dealers dont usually carry the springs and cotters but you would need to order them when gettin ur cams.
gasflowing is bassically reshaping the ports and polishing them, usually costs around £350, and most tuning places will do it altho the UK's best is said to be Roger Upperton in Yorkshire, Ive had my heads done by him and his work is spot on and reasonably priced. Mark Fisher is also another top guy who does it well and his work is reasonably priced too and is based in the midlands near me |

| Is the power commander gonna be enough to get the fuel set right? |

Yes, a power commander will allow any tuner to sort the fuelling out no matter what you do to the head/cams etc. |

Standard they are about 10-15% more power. PCIII setup correctly, can, downgeard and have you a thou destroyer (in the right hands)
I dont see the point of spending all that money on the engine for a increase that you would get from just swapping it or buying a 750.
They arent like car engines where all the internals are rough cast, Most are smoothed out. The biggest improvment I would recommend is having the crank knife edged this will make it rev alot quicker. |

Yeah the only thing you may need is a wiring loom ECU and CDI from a 750, I say might but i think the Loom is the same.
Transmission is built into the lump so no need to split the case.
Contact a breakers and tell them you want a low milage engine and ancillarys. Or search ebay usa. |
